Job Description :
Develop web pages in a combination of codes including HTML and XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Optimization of sites to ensure they meet functional requirements
Analysis of marketing requirements and functional specifications to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
Taking responsibility and ownership for the quality of all deliverables
If requested by client, ensuring that all materials on sites are accessible to all groups including those with disabilities
Take PSD (or equivalent) webpage mockups and convert them to W3C compliant pages
Work Experience
Bachelors Degree in Software or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science, College Diploma in Programming or Web Development or equivalent experience
4+ years of web development experience, solid understanding of web development and design concepts coupled with real-world working experience
Firm understanding of CSS (positioning, styling, box model, cross browser compatibility, selectors, priorities)
Able to write table-less HTML for style and positioning
In-depth knowledge of HTML, DHTML, XHTML (DOM manipulation, W3C compliance, accessibility)
Ability to transform non-W3C compliant webpage to W3C compliant webpage
Experience with JavaScript and AJAX, and jQuery + code samples
Able to debug JavaScript in both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox as well as other browsers
Experience with templating engines (smarty, velocity, etc.)
Comfortable writing SQL queries. Experience with DB2 is a plus.
Knowledge and experience of the latest optimization techniques
Experience implementing and customizing content management systems such as Drupal, Joomla, etc.
Excellent command of English, both written and verbal
