The senior User Interface developer will be responsible for creation of user interfaces for new e-commerce, web, and product development initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable history of delivering high quality web applications.
All deliverables need to be standards-compliant,cross-browser compatible, and leverage existing UI libraries where possible.
Candidates must have a strong passion for interactive design and demonstrate knowledge of current UI innovations, trends, and best practices.
The senior developer will often be called upon to lead and mentor less senior developers.
Primary ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with UI Designer to create and implement code compliant layouts.
Perform optimization, debugging code, and ensure cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility.
Be an active participant in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
Work closely with the Design, Development, and User-Experience Teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of the user interface with the web application.
Assist with planning and development of UI for new web-based tools.
Accomplish aggressive goals and meet strict deadlines.
Maintain cutting edge knowledge of modern web browser capabilities, compatibility issues, and behavior related to the use of different DOCTYPE declarations, character encoding, W3C standards, and accessibility issues.
Develop a detailed understanding of the capabilities of the Bluefin Associates products and services.
This position requires an ability to understand how our IT-focused solutions help our customer and to translate that into key marketing messages that will drive interest.
The success of campaigns will be based on your depth of insight into the technology and customer pains.
Participate in cross-group collaboration across multiple time zones.
Develop estimates for effort, time, and cost for design initiatives.
Provide regular status updates and feedback.Advise management about any perceived roadblocks, issues, and risk factors regarding schedule and/or costs.
Required Skills Strong experience with client side user interface technologies HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML and AJAX (ability to hand-code is a must).
Experience with third-party APIs Yahoo s YUI Library, Googles jQuery, Paypal API, Facebook API, and others as may be needed.
Experience coding within a web template system or application framework.
Understanding of standards based development and revision control systems including accessing / contributing to Subversion repositories (SVN).
Strong experience with HTTP, FTP, navigating and organizing image directories, server hierarchies and related technologies.
Experience with UNIX, Linux or equivalent system including secure shell or SSH.
Experience with performance and optimization standards, performance tuning following industry techniques.
Knowledge of industry standard web graphics software (example PhotoShop or Fireworks) to produce web optimized images.
Knowledge of back-end languages (for example PHP, ASP.net) and principles/practices of consumer web-based UI design along with awareness of user-centered trends.
Educational RequirementsA pertinent Bachelors Degree and 2-3 years work experience is required.
2-3 years practical exposure in the specific field will waive educational requirements.
Sample work may be requested during the interview.
Preferred Skill SetShould be detail oriented, able to multi-task, prioritize workload, work with frequent interruptions, and cope with sudden high stress situations.
